A little bit goes a long way
Prince Tahini is made of roasted sesame seeds. Once crushed, they release the goodness within and provide an excellent and easily absorbed source of calcium and iron.
Sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum L.) are an excellent dietary source of copper,
manganese and vitamin E, and also contain calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus,
soluble fiber, zinc, and several B-vitamins.
Sesame seeds have antimicrobial properties and sesame oil has been shown to have
antioxidant, antihypertensive, cholesterol-lowering, and plasma glucose and lipid-lowering properties.
Sesame seed consumption has been shown to improve bone health.
In addition to these important nutrients, sesame seeds contain two unique substances:
sesamin and sesamolin. Both of these substances belong to a group of special beneficial fibers
called lignans, and have been shown to have a cholesterol-lowering effect in humans, and to
prevent high blood pressure and increase vitamin E supplies in animals.
Sesamin has also been found to protect the liver from oxidative damage.
